Girl Scouts

Calvary opens it doors for the local Girl Scout organization to hold its meetings the first and third Thursdays of the month from Sept. to May.

Confirmation Class

Young people in 7 th grade or older are invited to study the basics of the Christian faith (Baptism, Holy Communion, The Ten Commandments, The Lord's Prayer, and The Apostles' Creed) over a two-year period. Mentors meet periodically with youth during the Sunday School hour. Youth celebrate the rite of Affirmation of Baptism (Confirmation) in the spring of their second year, usually on Pentecost.

1st Communion Instruction

A two-part course in February is offered to youth in 4 th grade and higher to educate them in the meaning of Holy Communion to become prepared to receive the sacrament.

Cradle Roll

This ministry is for newly-baptized infants in our church, ending with their third birthday. Parents receive monthly mailings offering suggestions on raising their child in a Christ-centered home as well as helpful advice on parenting.

Youth Group

Two youth groups are available to youth for fellowship and fun, Christian learning and service. The Junior Youth Group for 3rd -6 th graders meets once a month, often on the third Sunday, to eat and play games together at church or off site like a bowling alley or skating rink. We hold one overnight at the church for this group each year in April. The Senior Youth Group meets less frequently but plans a youth service in November and does service projects and enjoys sports outings.

For youth grades fifth through twelfth. Acolytes perform several duties during the worship that assist in conducting the service. Training is scheduled as needed.
